The Best Self Emptying Robot Vacuum
The best robot vacuums that self-empty come with a base which holds a full month's worth debris and empty it automatically. It can create a detailed home map, allowing you to mark rooms and define "no go" zones.
It also has superior abilities to avoid obstacles, which means that it is safe from power cords and rogue sock.
iRobot Roomba s9+
This robot is one of the top models from iRobot and it certainly performs well. It can move easily across different surfaces and is extremely efficient at sucking dust, dirt and other debris away. It's also well-built and looks pretty good as well.
The S9 is the latest model of iRobot's premium S Series line of robot vacuums. As the name suggests, it has a handful of extra features that set it apart from other models. For instance the iRobot app uses the camera in this unit to create an interactive map of your home that helps it navigate and clean effectively.
It's not necessary to spend time cleaning the same spots over and over again if the battery runs out. You can manually start and stop cleaning using a voice command, or by using the iRobot App. This smart vacuum can even clean in darkness!
Another excellent feature is Carpet Boost, which gives the S9 additional suction power when it comes in contact with carpeting so it can suck up even more dirt and debris. The unit is an open-front design that lets it get closer to walls and corners than previous round designs. This model does not work well with shag or high-pile carpeting.
In our tests we discovered that the iRobot S9+ cleans thoroughly and efficiently on a variety of flooring surfaces, ranging from carpets with medium to hard piles and rugs. It also performed well on vinyl, and laminate flooring. It also did a nice job of navigating between furniture and objects although it did struggle with stairs, where it could accidentally hit things like bookcases.
The S9's capability to automatically return to its base and empty its dust bin when it's full was a fantastic feature. It eliminated the necessity for manual maintenance. The dust bag is expected to last for around 30 loads or a month and half. You'll need to replace the filter periodically (as recommended by iRobot). The iRobot S9+ is not extremely loud when it's operating which makes it a great choice for families with pets or children.
Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid
Created to remove one of the most difficult tasks off your hands, robotic vacuum cleaners take care of all the hard work and get carpeted and hardwood floors free of the everyday debris. Some robot vacuum cleaners are able to be controlled via an app on your smartphone, while others come with mopping technology to kitchen and bathroom flooring. They are a great option for busy families, and they are becoming more affordable. If you want the latest technology for your robotic cleaner then you'll need to pay a little more.
The Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid vacuum and mopping machine is an excellent choice for people who live in multi-floored apartments. The vacuum's 0.6l bin can hold plenty of pet hair. Dual motors give impressive cleaning power. The dustbin can be easily removed and emptied which is great since you'll need to do this frequently.
It's also easy to set up, but I would recommend fully charging the X8 Hybrid prior to running it for the first time. Install the Eufy Home application and follow the instructions to connect it to your WiFi network. The app will help you draw a map of your home. You can label rooms, divide rooms into sub-rooms (good for open-plan living) and guide the X8 Hybrid to specific areas that require cleaning at a specific time. Eufy's application is more user-friendly and refined than other robots with similar scanning and mapping capabilities.
One of the best features on the X8 Hybrid is that you can activate the mop or vacuum using your voice, thanks to the integration with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. This is a wonderful feature that makes the robot hands-free. It worked well in our test home.
The X8 Hybrid, like many robotic vacuums, has issues with flooring that is not clean. It is prone to miss fur and small objects and is known to knock things like its charger on the charging platform. It's not as quiet and the whirring sound could be distracting like other models.
Roborock V3S Pro
This model doesn't have the same features as some of the more expensive ones we've tested, but it does cover the basics. It has a large enough dust bin to hold plenty of dirt before it needs emptying and its vacuum and mop system is great for carpets with low pile and hard floors. It's also extremely quiet. We were able watch the TV while it was cleaning without feeling like we were constantly bombarded by the sound.
Our test subjects were extremely impressed by how simple the machine was to use and set up. They also appreciated its ability to eliminate all the mess from their flooring. It also did a good job of picking up pet hair and messes on carpeting, but it was not as effective in tackling stubborn stuck-on stains. They found the app easy to use and intuitive, and they were able to schedule the vacuum to clean on a regular basis to reduce the amount they needed to do manually. It doesn't include any mapping or object avoidance technology, so it can't be sent to specific rooms or follow virtual boundaries (though magnetic boundaries are compatible).
Another model from iRobot's low-cost line that is the V3S Pro has some impressive features for the price. It beat out all other robotic vacuums we tested when it comes to the ability to avoid obstacles and map them, and it's the best budget pick for those who are looking for an intelligent self-emptying robot vacuum that can handle pet hair and messes on carpets with low pile and hardwood floors. It is also very quiet and comes with a large dust bin that can hold plenty of debris before it's time to empty it.
The V3S Pro did not make it into any of our top picks lists from reliable sources that conduct hands-on tests, however it was praised by Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews and The Ambient. They were impressed with how easy it was to setup and use, but they noted that its battery life was short and it didn't manage to avoid some of the most stubborn mess we've put it through.
Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is an entry-level robot mop and vacuum that comes with a variety of features at a fair cost. You can enjoy many of the top features, including smart navigation and mapping without paying top dollar. You can even use voice commands through Alexa, Google Assistant, or Apple Siri shortcuts to create custom automations, and then start your cleaning cycle remotely while you're away.
Roborock has spent time in the development of this clever cleaner. This is why the product is incredibly well-built and feels like it was constructed from premium materials. Its base is sturdy and stable, with an integrated charging port for the battery. On the top is the dock for the clean water tank and dirty water bins. You'll also find a panel under the dock that holds a sealed vacuum bag.
When you connect your device to the app, you'll get a 2D or 3D map of your home, which shows where your robot is currently in and the area it's cleaning. You can also build virtual barriers to keep your robot from certain areas or to only clean certain types of flooring. It's also capable of adjusting its power settings according to the kind of floor being cleaned, as well as choosing the most efficient method of cleaning.
The Q Revo stands out from many other robot vacuums because it can lift both of its mop heads while vacuuming. This prevents carpet fibres from being stained. In fact, it's one of the few vacuums on the market that can do this.

When mopping the Q Revo's 5500Pa suction capabilities are sufficient to remove specks of dust or pet hair strands and other particles. The all-rubber brush can be used to disentangle human and animal hair, as it adjusts to uneven surfaces.
The only issue with this machine is that it takes a long time to fill and empty both the dirty and clean tanks. Luckily, top robot vacuum can decrease the frequency of this by utilizing the auto-empty feature that will automatically empty the bin after a couple of days. You'll still need to check the water levels in the dock manually, though, as there isn't an automatic reminder.
